The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a worldwide Catholic lay organization devoted to spiritual growth, fellowship, and service . At St. Joseph, Vincentians serve those who are poor, vulnerable, or in crisis—offering practical help in a spirit of dignity, respect, and Christian love .
Mission & Vision
To encounter Christ in the poor and suffering, and to serve each person with compassion and justice —upholding their God-given dignity while meeting urgent needs and fostering hope.
How We Serve
- Home food delivery from our parish pantry
- Financial assistance and resource referrals
- Service at the downtown SVdP campus (warehouse, kitchen, clinic, shelters)
- Support at SVdP thrift stores throughout the city
Get Involved & Training
- New Vincentians complete two 8-hour training sessions (typically weekends)
- Ongoing spiritual formation, mentorship, and team support help you serve confidently and compassionately
Time Commitment
- Meetings: 2nd & 4th Tuesdays, 6:30–7:45 p.m.
- Food delivery: About 3–4 hours , one day every 3–4 weeks (rotating schedule)
