What's Happening

Dear St. Joseph Parish Family,

My name is Derek Stull, and I am honored to begin serving as your new Music Director this July.

I am grateful for the opportunity to join this vibrant parish community and to support our worship

through music.

I would say that my constant mission in life is to glorify God in song. I believe that when we as

musicians strive to offer our most beautiful and excellent work, it is pleasing to Him. Whether at

the altar during Mass, in an evening of praise and worship, or even at a parish cookout, our

music can become a true sacrifice of praise. I look forward to singing alongside all of you each

week as we glorify our God together.

A little about myself: my wife, Taylor, and I have been married for eight years, and we have

been blessed to sing and make music together for over a decade. I earned my undergraduate

degree in Music Education and later completed graduate studies in Operatic Vocal

Performance. For the past six years, I have served as Choir Director and Acting Teacher at St.

John Paul II Catholic High School in Avondale while also serving alongside my wife in various

praise and worship ministries throughout the Diocese.

I have also been blessed to lead choirs and cantor at Prince of Peace Parish in Sun City West

for the past three years, and I have had wonderful opportunities to sing with the North Valley

Chorale and the Arizona Bach Society. I love to sing, and I especially love helping others

discover and develop their own voices. So if you have ever thought about joining the choir but

have been hesitant to give it a try, now is the time!



I am excited to get to know all of you in the months ahead and to share in the life of St. Joseph

Parish. I humbly ask for your prayers as I begin this July.
