Cursillo Ministry
A Short Course in Living the Christian Life
The Cursillo Movement (from the Spanish word “Cursillo,” meaning “short course”) is a short course in living what is fundamental to being a Christian. Through a three-day retreat experience, participants encounter Christ, themselves, and others—renewing their understanding of God’s love and their call to live as authentic disciples in the world.
Mission & Vision
To help Catholics deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and live their faith joyfully and courageously in everyday life. The movement encourages each participant to become a witness of Christ, bringing the Good News to family, work, and community.
How It Works
The Cursillo weekend provides a foundation for a life centered in Christ and the Church. Participants grow through prayer, reflection, and fellowship—discovering how to:
-
Live fully as Christian disciples
-
Experience the joy of friendship and community
-
Be strengthened for mission and evangelization in the world
After the weekend, members continue to live out their faith through ongoing friendship groups and reunions, supporting one another in their spiritual journey.
The Spirit of Cursillo
Cursillo is rooted in friendship, prayer, and service. It provides both a method and community support to live out our baptismal call—to bring Christ to others through word and action.
