Proclaiming the Living Word of God

 

The Lectors Ministry consists of adult and youth parishioners who serve the Church by proclaiming Sacred Scripture during Mass. Through prayerful preparation and reverent delivery, lectors help the congregation encounter the living Word of God as a source of faith, hope, and inspiration.

 

Mission & Vision

 

To bring the Word of God to life during the liturgy, helping all present experience the power and beauty of Scripture as an essential part of the Eucharistic celebration.

 

How We Serve

 

• Proclaim the biblical readings during Saturday, Sunday, and Holy Day Masses
• Participate in special feast day and liturgical celebrations as assigned
• Prepare spiritually and practically for each reading through prayer and reflection

 

Get Involved & Training

 

• Training is required , including Safe Environment (Call to Protect) certification
• Additional practice sessions may be held for special liturgies or feast days
• Open to confirmed youth and adults with a love for Scripture and a clear, prayerful speaking voice

 

Time Commitment

 

• Scheduled quarterly
• Typically one Mass per assignment , with occasional special opportunities
