Compassion Ministry

Comforting Families with Christ’s Love

The Compassion Ministry accompanies grieving families with hospitality and care following a funeral Mass. Through simple acts—food, refreshment, a welcoming presence—we help loved ones gather, remember, and find comfort in the heart of the Church.

Mission & Vision

To reflect Christ’s mercy by easing practical burdens on the day of a funeral and offering a gentle, prayerful presence to families in their time of loss.

How We Serve

  • Serve at funeral receptions in Joseph Hall (and Ascension Hall as needed)
  • Prepare dishes (casseroles, sides, fruit/veggie platters, desserts)
  • Assemble platters (meat and cheese provided by the ministry)
  • Set up and clean up reception spaces with care and respect

Get Involved & Training

No prior training required—just a compassionate heart and a willingness to help when needs arise. We’ll guide you through the process.

Time Commitment

As needed based on funeral schedules. On reception days, set-up typically begins around 9:00 a.m. and concludes by 2:00 p.m. (timing varies by funeral start time).
